src=\"http:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/crowd.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"392\" height=\"260\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Friday, March 9, 2012, the Telephone Booth Gallery held the opening reception for <strong>Local Call: Junction Neighbours Group Exhibition<\/strong>.\u00a0 Local Call features established artists that live or work in The Junction\/Junction Triangle neighbourhoods of Toronto.\u00a0 The idea for this neighbourly exhibition stemmed from a conversation with Tim Whiten and David McClyment, who both happened to pop into the gallery one Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-8267\" title=\"LindaMartinello_TimWhiten\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/LindaMartinello_TimWhiten.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"324\" \/>Artists Linda Martinello and Tim Whiten<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-8264\" title=\"guest_DavidLiss\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/guest_DavidLiss.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"396\" height=\"273\" \/>Mocca artistic director David Liss with\u00a0 a visitor<\/p>\n<p>Gallery Director Sharlene Rankin is thrilled with the exhibition, which includes several brand new, never-before-exhibited works by Shelley Adler, Katherine Knight, David Liss, Dyan Marie, David McClyment and Laura Moore.\u00a0 The artwork in the exhibition is quite diverse\u2014installation, painting, watercolours, drawing, sculpture, mixed-media\/sound works and photography.\u00a0 The strength of the works and the diversity make for a satisfying gallery visit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/LauraMoore_friend.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-8266\" title=\"LauraMoore_friend\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/LauraMoore_friend.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"416\" height=\"274\" \/><\/a>Artists\u00a0Laura Moore and friend<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo be able to work with artists that I have respected for many years has been very exciting.\u00a0 It has also been a great opportunity for the artists to meet and get to know each other.\u00a0 New synergies and opportunities for partnerships between the artists are emerging, which is fantastic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p new clients, friends and family enjoying the evening.\u00a0 The noise level was high, making it hard to hear Marla Hlady\u2019s \u201cMixers,\u201d and at times it was difficult to even walk down the hall or visit the backroom gallery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/MarlaHlady_Katherine-Knight.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\"
