Then Rubin, an international art writer, curator, traveller and renaissance art man, gave me a tour of the exhibition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The eight New York artists represent a great diversity both in their age, artistic approach and style. Photo: Ed Rubin<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Ernest Concepcion<\/strong> was\u00a0the only artist who came to Toronto\u00a0for the opening. His black, white and gray <em>Power Dream <\/em>is a twisted interpretation of the words, showing all the natural powers unleashed around the peacefully sleeping figure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/rsz_fran_hill_gallery_jan_11_2012_ernest__edward.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-6970\" title=\"rsz_fran_hill_gallery_jan_11_2012_ernest_&amp;_edward\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/rsz_fran_hill_gallery_jan_11_2012_ernest__edward.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"392\" height=\"294\" \/><\/a>Artist Ernest Concepcion and curator Edward Rubin<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Lori Nelson<\/strong>&#8216;s teenage girl seems almost pretty surrounded by red flowers\u2014until we have\u00a0a closer look and see that she is actually throwing up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/Lori-Nelson-Pretty-2010-Pretty-On-The-Inside-lr.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-6772\" title=\"Lori Nelson Pretty 2010 Pretty On The Inside  lr\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/Lori-Nelson-Pretty-2010-Pretty-On-The-Inside-lr.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"288\" height=\"290\" \/><\/a>Lori Nelson, Pretty, pretty on the inside, 2010<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Heidi Johnson<\/strong>&#8216;s paintings are radiating happiness with their strong colors juxtaposed by <strong>Jason Stopa<\/strong> more monocrome cityscapes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/rsz_fram_hill_gallery_jan_2012_walden__johnson_wall.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-6969\" title=\"rsz_fram_hill_gallery_jan_2012_walden_&amp;_johnson_wall\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/rsz_fram_hill_gallery_jan_2012_walden__johnson_wall.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"392\" height=\"294\" \/><\/a>Scott Walden&#8217;s photographs (left) and Heidi Johnson&#8217;s\u00a0paintings (right).
