It is dedicatee to the empowerment of local and international artists\u2019 creative agendas while also fulfilling the public\u2019s interest in art. This year\u2019s <em>Off the Wall<\/em> Fundraiser and Gala was a delightful event to end 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/rsz_dsc01933.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/rsz_dsc01933.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44407\" width=\"351\" height=\"227\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s <em>Off the Wall<\/em> was among the most successful. Over 100 artworks by 93 Propeller and invited artists were exhibited in the space. The two rooms of the gallery were packed with art enthusiasts. Every ticket holder at the event got 30 seconds to choose a piece of artwork they wanted to take home after their number was drawn. You could feel the excitement in the air as they waited. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/DSC01911.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/DSC01911.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44398\" width=\"351\" height=\"233\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/DSC01912.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/DSC01912.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44399\" width=\"352\" height=\"234\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The over 100 artworks provided a great selection and were done in a variety of medias. As Joseph Muscat, the Partnerships Chair of the gallery, drew the numbers, the lucky attendees ran to claim the work they loved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/rsz_dsc01938.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/rsz_dsc01938.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44408\" width=\"350\" height=\"231\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:center\">Joseph Muscat announces a winning number<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Frances Patella who is the Co-chair of the gallery, is among the most active participating artists of this event since the first <em>Off the Wall<\/em> in 2011. Patella\u2019s \u201cColumns at Metaponto, Italy\u201d (acrylic and photography) was among the first ones to be taken off the wall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/patella-columns-at-metaponto-italy_orig.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/patella-columns-at-metaponto-italy_orig.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44406\" width=\"312\" height=\"239\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:center\">Frances Patella: \u201cColumns at Metaponto, Italy\u201d. Courtesy of Propeller Gallery<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The quality of the exhibited artworks was remarkable, regardless of whether it was made by young artists who were participating for the first time or more established members of Propeller. Some contributing artists were attendees as well who also got to pick their favourite artwork.
