Opening reception: November 20, 2019 <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

MOCA<\/strong> \/ 158   Sterling Rd.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students in their last year of the undergraduate level art programs from 100 institutions across the country were invited to submit work in this competition sponsored by BMO. Twelve regional winners and one national winner were selected and their work is on display at MOCA. Regional winners are awarded $7,500 while the National winner receives $15,000. This funding can help students further their careers and establish their art practise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Works are chosen by a selection committee including Marie-Eve Beaupr\u00e9 (Curator Mus\u00e9e d\u2019art de Montreal), Cheyanne Turions (Curator SFU Galleries), Adriana Kuiper (artist & associate professor of Mount Allison University) and Sarah Robayo Sheridan (Curator Art Museum at the University of Toronto).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Works in the exhibit represented an eclectic mix using a variety of media from painting to installation, mixed media, caribou bone, fibre works and use of technology. All the student artists were excited to receive recognition and be awarded for their hard work. Kudos for BMO to help in the development of these artists’ careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
