More than half of the artists are women and the works seem centred on the female experience. A few of the artists are from outside Ontario such as Yvette Tang (Vancouver) and Kelsey Vaughan (Edmonton).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/rsz_the_sex_show_2019.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/rsz_the_sex_show_2019.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-42201\" width=\"440\" height=\"256\"\/><\/a><figcaption>Installation view of <em>The&nbsp;Sex&nbsp;Show<\/em> at Gallery 1313<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The works were selected online, and Anderson was surprised that artists didn\u2019t embrace the me-too movement or have very little to say politically. The quality of work was even and there were certain favorites for everyone. Grace Dam\u2019s painting <em>The Blackberry<\/em> is powerful in its quiet way, showing how cellphone interrupts even the most intimate moments of our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/rsz_fei_lu_-_grace_dam.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/rsz_fei_lu_-_grace_dam.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-42196\" width=\"274\" height=\"271\"\/><\/a><figcaption>Grace Dam, <em>The&nbsp;Blackberry<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Photographer, Ravi Persaud\u2019s <em>One Night Stand<\/em> stood out with its mystical loneliness, created by the soft warm light and the crumpled bed. Painter Nora House\u2019s work, <em>Selfie <\/em>had a nude figure holding a phone camera for a pose.
