While each theme differs from one another, they connect by their assessment of the iconic.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/rsz_image_5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-24452\" title=\"rsz_image_5\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/rsz_image_5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"366\" height=\"252\" srcset=\"https:\/\/v2.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/rsz_image_5.jpg 679w, https:\/\/v2.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/rsz_image_5-150x103.jpg 150w, https:\/\/v2.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/rsz_image_5-250x171.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 366px) 100vw, 366px\" \/><\/a>Artist Jane Hook\u00a0with <em>WANNABEs<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It is recognized quickly when exploring the exhibition that Hook has quite\u00a0a sense of humour.\u00a0Each work brought a smile to\u00a0my\u00a0face whether it was the hilariously delightful <em>WANNABEs<\/em> or the simple truths that resonate behind her eco pieces. As the artist herself said in her speech at the gallery opening, &#8220;the pieces are at once very simple in their meaning but if you know more about them they are very complex.&#8221; I certainly found this held true for every piece. The <em>WANNABEs<\/em> and <em>Full Circle<\/em> sculptures are based on real people in Hook&#8217;s life\u00a0and she knows them\u00a0intimately.
