The aim of this project is to create a holistic framework that supports and encourages Aboriginal students and their culture. The amount of people who checked out the exhibition showed that the student’s expression of their culture is one way to take the mutual understanding a step further. Ed Sackaney mentioned this during his traditional opening ceremony at the beginning of the reception, honoring the work of the students. Donna Quan, the Director of Education from the Toronto District School Board also stated that much has been done but there was much more to do.

Ed Sackaney

Debra Cormier from the Ministry of Education & Donna Quan, Director of TDSB

Louise Azzarello, the centrally assigned teacher, gave the students the opportunity to work with seven guest artists throughout the program.
