The word ‘aperture’ in Optics refers to the hole through which light and image travel. In this sense we explore photography, images and visual artworks in their ability to capture a moment and perspective and relay it to others, opening a hole that shares a glimpse of one person’s perspective to another. In Geometry the word ‘aperture’ is the inclination of lines, which meet in a point. This is also interesting in terms of artist’s assemblage of seemingly disparate information, objects or settings and uniting them in one frame as a cohesive, or sometimes in cohesive, perspective.

We are looking for works that employ, represent, explore and consider unique, alternative and unconventional perspectives. This may be in terms of literal perspective, focal points, composition, palette etc.

* Projector and dedicated screens available for displaying video work
* Plinths and shelves available for displaying sculptural work
* Printing and photographic documentation services available

If you wish to submit, please include:
• Up to 6 Photos or up to 3 videos of your work
o Titled: FULLNAME_TITLE_SIZE_MEDIUM_DATE
• A brief artist bio/statement – up to 200 words
• Contact information – including phone number and website/blog to: submissions@projectgallerytoronto.com by February 24 (quoting ‘APERTURE’ in the email subject)

Artists accepted to this exhibit will contribute a nominal 50-75$ hanging/exhibition fee, with 25% commission going to the gallery.
