BMO Financial Group Proudly Presented the Winners of the 1st Art!<\/em> Invitational Student Art Competition, 2013.<\/strong><\/div>\n

BMO 1st Art!<\/em> celebrates the best of Canada\u2019s recent visual arts graduates, from coast to coast. This year\u2019s national and regional winners, who demonstrate the excellence and promise of\u00a0the\u00a0newest generation of artists, gathered at Mocca for the Award Ceremony and the Opening Reception of their show.<\/p>\n

The Award winning ceremony started at 7:30. Speaker, Dawn Cain, who\u00a0helped to\u00a0launch BMO 1st Art!<\/em> show, said ” The works of art explore a vast amount of topics and are each strong pieces by themselves. They are provoking emotion and showing ambition from all the young artist.”<\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u00a0Award winning artists (from left to right): Whitney French, Eshan Rafi, Hillary Smith, Laura Rokas-B\u00e9rub\u00e9, Derian Blake, Sam Knopp, Erika Dueck,, Tiffany Wollman, Charles Brendon Schick, Carson Isenor, Valerie LeClair, Alexis Bulman, Frederick Silas Qulaut.<\/p>\n

The national winner received $10,000 and the regional winners each received $5,000. As the ultimate accolade, the national winner\u2019s artwork becomes part of the BMO Corporate Art Collection, which includes works by historical and contemporary Canadian masters.<\/p>\n

Her mixed media\u00a0installation work,\u00a0The Ephemeral Mind,<\/em> took 40 hours to set up in MOCCA.<\/p>\n
