Best known for her still images and her lenticular photographs of figures underwater, Cole harnesses the medium of water as a natural lens which refocuses and reinterprets a painterly aesthetic.<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by its inherent reflective quality, the underwater environment becomes a means through which to challenge our perception of the figure in space. In her fifth underwater series, \u2018<em>Duplicity<\/em>,\u2019 each image represents a figurative kaleidoscope, achieved through the weightlessness of water and the opposing reflections that are naturally created on its surface.<\/p>\n<p>The show is open: September 12 &#8211; 28, 2013 at Bau-Xi Photo, 324 Dundas St West.
