Photo: Celeste Ringrose<\/p>\n<p>When Tree Falls, currently showing at Pentimento Gallery in Toronto, is the first work I\u2019ve seen by artist Francis Muscat, but certainly not his first show. Photo: Celeste Ringrose<\/p>\n<p>Some sculptures incorporate delicate figurative carving while others include glasswork\u2014a familiar medium for this artist. There\u2019s one piece\u00a0<em>Greg 2<\/em>\u00a0that looks like the darkened wood has been flattened cartoon-like into spikey dark hair tipped with silvery-green and then merged with a clear glass silhouette of a man\u2019s head that\u2019s driven through the wood.
