Opening Reception: February 7, 2013, 7 – 10 p.m.<\/strong>

The opening was on a blustery evening with the beginnings of a snow\u00a0storm. No stopping artist Donald Fowler<\/em> who drove from\u00a0Montreal in the snow\u00a0to attend the reception with his work on display. Montrealers are use to snow.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/span>Participating artists Donald Fowler and Hilary Kean <\/span><\/p>\n

The twenty five artists who\u00a0displayed work in the exhibit each had a different take on the subject matter\u00a0which made the exhibit more intriguing for\u00a0the visitors.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/span>Visitors Iva,Taryn,Trish, Hilary, Tara and Fabio enjoy the show<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the snow the gallery was packed and the crowd decided to\u00a0stay as the snow kept coming down. Artist Roger Gremo who arrived with his male sculptural works in body bags enjoyed meeting some other artists. Gremo\u00a0who also shows at Gallery Clark told me he was first got representation at the\u00a0Burston Gallery at Queen Street\u00a0West and Dovercourt. Josh Burston ran a gallery for several years before the venue became a Star Bucks\u00a0outlet. <\/span><\/p>\n

Artist Ethan Lester is studying in Victoria working on\u00a0his MFA and he heard about the exhibit and decided to participate. Some of\u00a0the out of town artists couldn\u2019t attend the reception such as Madeline Mayo of\u00a0Montreal. York\u00a0University MFA student Shanon Scanlan was excited to exhibit her sculptures\u00a0which are part of her thesis project. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/span>Artist Ethan Lester<\/span><\/p>\n

Photographer, Paul Dymond was a late entry in the exhibit and was\u00a0happy to see his painted body figures in the exhibit. Participating\u00a0photographers Jolie Fejer and Viliam Hrnbovak drove in from\u00a0Oakville in the\u00a0storm and enjoyed the exhibit. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/span>Artist Gillian Collyer<\/span><\/p>\n

The exhibit has became a yearly event attracting different artists from\u00a0across the country. It is curated online through submissions. Although\u00a0challenging to install so many diverse works it is always a pleasant surprise\u00a0to see the results.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/span>Artist\u00a0 Christopher Haynes with his “Dirty Dishes”<\/span><\/p>\n

The Sex Show attempts to push the boundaries of the definition of sex.\u00a0It approaches the topic of sex from all angles, exhibiting works that\u00a0\u00a0 vary on a broad scale, from art that is more explicit to art that is\u00a0more elusive in content. Not only does The Sex Show contain a wide\u00a0variety of sex-related themes and contents, it also exhibits the use of\u00a0abundantly different mediums such as video, photography, sculpture,\u00a0collage, mixed media and paint.<\/span><\/p>\n
