The 2700 square foot Annex space was full of well wishers. MOCCA it was rumoured might be also looking in the area for a new space as there is still some prime industrial space available.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Scrap-Metal-Gallery.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-16098\" title=\"Scrap Metal Gallery\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Scrap-Metal-Gallery.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"311\" height=\"233\" srcset=\"https:\/\/v2.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Scrap-Metal-Gallery.jpg 864w, https:\/\/v2.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Scrap-Metal-Gallery-150x112.jpg 150w, https:\/\/v2.artoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Scrap-Metal-Gallery-250x187.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 311px) 100vw, 311px\" \/><\/a>The entrance of Scrap Metal Gallery<\/p>\n<p>To the south at 11 Dublin Street &#8211; in the Bloor and Lansdowne area &#8211; there was another reception for the <strong>Scrap Metal Gallery<\/strong> with Polish artist <em>Miroslaw Balka<\/em>&#8216;s installation <em>Heaven. Balka <\/em>represented his native Poland in the 1993 Venice Biennale. The installation is about &#8220;loss of self and identity&#8221; using 68 perspex rods suspended from the ceiling which seemed in perpetual motion. By reflecting the viewer in a distorted and infinite way the rods change our view of self.\u00a0The reception was made complete with Polish beer, kabasa sausage and perogis.
