I haven’t stopped thinking about Cannibal Nympho Witch, since it’s opening earlier this month. On the walls, a series of feral felines greet us. One cat after the next, distorted and psychedelic, somehow both crossed-eyed and menacing, watch you watch them. Off-stream the flow of gallery-vanters, I find myself against a catnip grow-op tent that hums and emits lambent violet light. In the next room, a sculpture of a litter box—complete with bronze cat excrement — is found at the bottom of the stairs, a familiar site for objects of its kind.

Together, Kim Kozzi and Dai Skuse — FASTWÜRMS duo since 1979— use subversive practices to build on what has become a panoply of multidisciplinary projects. As life partners and co-creators, Kossi and Skuse are free to play and engage in an art practice that feels entirely without self-consciousness or trepidation. The show, at times was like walking through the radiant conduit of a kaleidoscope, and had me questioning every turn.

by Sarah Sands Phillips

One cat after the next, distorted and psychedelic, somehow both crossed-eyed and menacing, watch you watch them

[59

post-16024","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-briefs
["GET
